To enhance the quality of human life trough protection against various hazards as well as protections of environmental effects that may result in injuries or death, scientist all around the world have developed protective clothing. Protective clothing is now a major part of textiles classified as technical or industrial textiles. Protective clothing includes fire resistant, cut resistant, sun protective clothing, water resistant fabric and Antimicrobial fabric. At all stages of the development process Textile Protective Testing Lab offers a variety of tests meeting specific performance standards related to consumer end use of textile products.
Testing Facilities:
Endurance of waterproof fabric (canvas, coated fabrics, cover cloth, rainproof cloth) is measured by water penetration resistance of fabric under hydrostatic pressure conditions.
Standard Test Method |

ISO 811 |
Water penetration resistance of textiles, Hydrostatic pressure test |
|
AATCC 127 |
Water resistance of textiles, Hydrostatic pressure test |

This test measures the resistance of fabrics to wetting by water, which may or may not have been given water-repellent finish. The spray method is a simulation of the degree to which clothing gets wet when drizzled.

Cut resistance test also known as Coup test is specifically designed to ensure that protective gloves themselves do not cause harm to wearer due to sharp cutting blades or equipment.
Standard Test Method |
Title |
|
ISO 13997 |
Protective clothing Mechanical properties - Determination of resistance to cutting by sharp objects |
Fire prevention in public spaces has received increased attention in recent years. As a result, Flame Resistant properties of fabric has become an integral part of the design and manufacturing process. NTRC provides testing facilities for protection against heat and flame.
